Principle of work of ventilating system.

 Small bottles of Dr. Brown's create positive pressure when feeding newborn children and prevent formation of vacuum, creating the conditions similar to feeding by a breast. The unique ventilating system allows air to get in a small bottle through the openings located on outer side of the ventilating plug. Further through a ventilating tube air gets to that part of a small bottle which when feeding is located over liquid. Constant replacement of liquid with air in the course of feeding prevents vacuum emergence. The vacuum (negative pressure) which is formed in usual small bottles can cause such problems as liquid accumulation on average to fish soup, gripes, gases, vomiting, bad mood of the child. The ventilating system minimizes contact of air with breast milk, keeping such important nutrients as vitamins C, And yes E.

How to clean and sterilize small bottles of Dr. Brown's  (Doctor Brown)

1. Take a bottle to pieces. Turn off the holder of a pacifier and take out ventilating system (the plug and a funnel).

2. A small bottle, its components and a silicone pacifier  of Dr. Brown's (Doctor Brown) – only before the first use: sterilize in the boiling water within 3 minutes.

3. Carefully wash up all parts in warm water with use of detergents. Use the brush attached to a product for cleaning of ventilating system.

4. Rinse all parts, check that the opening of a pacifier was free and is not littered.

5. When washing in the dishwasher put all parts of a product in the top basket.

6. Sterilize in a sterilizer of Dr. Brown's Natural Flow® (Doctor Brown).

Feeding from a small bottle of Dr. Brown's 

1. Mix has to be mixed out of a small bottle. Mix has to be well mixed and not contain lumps and clots which can block a pacifier opening. Avoid formation of bubbles. Do not shake up small bottle contents.

2. Fill in necessary amount of mix in a bottle.

You remember, the ventilating Dr. Brown's system   will not work if the level of mix is above a special mark in a bottle.  

3. Insert the plug into a funnel.

4. Insert a funnel into a bottle so that the plug densely adjoined to a bottle mouth.

5. Insert a pacifier in the holder and fix on a bottle.

6. – always weaken heating of mix in a bottle the holder of a pacifier on

to bottle to protect ventilating system from hit of the liquid following because of increase in pressure when heating.

7. Do not heat liquid higher than the body temperature (37os).

8. Before feeding densely tighten the holder of a pacifier on a bottle.

9. When feeding your child you watch that the open end of a funnel was not shipped in liquid. It is provided with a tilt angle of a small bottle about 45 degrees. The liquid remaining at the beginning of feeding in a funnel at the same time will be forced easily out.

10. When feeding you hold the child so that his head was in a little raised state.

Cautions when using a small bottle of Dr. Brown

1. It is not recommended to use the microwave oven for mix warming up as it can lead to an overheat and formation of certain hot sites. If you use the microwave oven, remember that you a pacifier and the holder have to be always removed during heating. Often check temperature, having dripped several drops on the rear surface of a hand, after careful hashing for elimination of uneven heating.

2. Slightly pull a pacifier before each use (feeding) to be convinced that it is not torn. At the first signs of damage replace a pacifier.

3. Always stop feeding before the small bottle is emptied completely, otherwise your baby will begin to suck in air.

4. The small bottle or its parts should not be given to the child for games.

5. On any questions concerning feeding of the child consult at your doctor.

6. When transporting a small bottle always have to be in horizontal position.

The pacifier for newborns is included in the package of a small bottle of Dr. Brown's Natural Flow®. There are also following levels of pacifiers Doctor Brown:

• slow stream (for children with the weakened sosatelny functions),
• of 3 months,
• of 6 months,
• for feeding by liquid porridges and juice with pulp,
• of 12 months.

Apply only nipples of Dr. Brown's Natural Flow®. Other nipples will not be able to provide the desirable mode of feeding.
