Natural oils and fats always contain the pigments painting them in specific color. So, the carotinoids which are present at oil give them coloring from yellow till red color, and a chlorophyll gives green coloring.

Cotton oil, except the listed pigments still contains gossypol and its derivatives which give in oils specific coloring, from brown till black color. And the purified oils and semi - finished products prepared on their basis should be light therefore there is a need of aftertreatment for decrease in chromaticity.

Additional adsorptive cleaning in addition to a basic purpose – removals of pigments, still solves not less important problems - destruction and removal from oil of products of oxidation, traces of phospholipids, removal of residual content of water and improvement of organoleptic properties of oil.

For the adsorptive purification of oil use the special activated bleaching clays received from natural bentonite clay previously having processed them mineral acids.

The granulated bentonite clay for use in preparation of the hydraulic insulating materials applied at construction of metro stations, gas pipelines, dams, benzo - gas - filiing stations is issued.
