The EK 400SL excavator is developed on the basis of the EK 400 excavator. EK 400SL is equipped with the superlong working equipment that allows to use effectively this model for cleaning of beds of the rivers and reservoirs of dirt, deposits of silt, alignment of road slopes at a construction of roads, and also for other types of meliorative and construction works where remote giving of a ladle is required.
On the excavator 2 types of ladles are established: planning and cleanup. Radius of digging makes - 18 m

CABIN
The strong and spacious cabin of the EK 400SL excavator has all necessary in order that work of the operator was the most productive and comfortable:
- the Simrit hydrosupport (Germany) reducing vibration;
- the rubber consolidations on doors and hatches providing shumo-and thermal insulation;
- chair "Grammer" (Germany) with an ergonomic profile and wide range of adjustments;
- conveniently located governing bodies "Bosch Rexroth" (Germany) with low effort on levers and pedals;
- the heater "Webasto" (Germany) creating additional comfort;
- the good review which is provided with big windows of a cabin which glasses are executed flat for fast replacement in case of their damage;
- at the request of the customer in a cabin the stereoradio tape recorder with the speaker system which is pleasant addition for operators and the Webasto conditioner (Germany) providing comfort during the work in hot climate is installed.
MANAGEMENT
The new, meeting the most modern requirements of design and ergonomics, multipurpose control panel of the EK 400 excavator carries out prestarting and current diagnostics of systems of the excavator, informs the operator on emergence of malfunctions, excess of maximum-permissible operational parameters and provides a possibility of the flexible choice of operating modes and management of a hydraulic system and the engine.
The LED display of the panel including four indexes and four signaling devices allows to control completely temperature and pressure in the engine, temperature of the worker and cooling liquids, the fuel level, and also their maximum permissible parameters.
The multipurpose STOP indicator informs the operator on emergence of emergencies, highlights information in the form of a code on malfunction of knots of the excavator during prestarting diagnostics.
Use of dustproof pseudo-touch switches of the choice of the modes, the LED display and indicators, existence of a scale of control of turns of the engine and LED illumination (color of a luminescence - white) does the new panel not only more informative, but also allows to increase a resource of its work considerably.
The system of automatic change of brightness of a luminescence of indicators and illumination depending on external illumination and an antiglare surface of the front panel ensure the most comfortable functioning of the operator at any time.
Active protection against excess of maximum-permissible operational parameters, the STOP indicator and buzzer considerably simplify control of work of systems of the excavator and allow the operator to concentrate completely the attention on performance of working operations that promotes labor productivity increase.
ENGINE
On the EK 400 excavator install the four-cycle six-cylinder diesel engine with elektrostarterny start of YaMZ 238B. YaMZ engines guarantee long no-failure operation of the excavator, they are not exacting in use and simple in service. The system of effective combustion of fuel provides the high rated power of the engine and its profitability.
For effective start of the engine at negative temperatures the prestarting heater "Webasto" (Germany) is established.
HYDRAULIC SYSTEM
The hydraulic system provides to the EK 400 excavator rational consumption of power, smoothness, accuracy and speed during the work depending on service conditions and nature of the carried-out operations.
The hydraulic system is convenient in operation, is universal (meets the requirements of any additional equipment), develops working pressure of 32,5 MPas, allows to reach the maximum productivity at decrease in unproductive losses.
All excavators are equipped with a complete set of the import hydroequipment: the modular pump, the hydrodistributor, hydromotors of the course and turn, control units "Bosch Rexroth" (Germany), hydraulic cylinders "Hydrauto" (Sweden) with dampers, the central collector "Haldex" (Germany), RVD "Manuli" (Italy), press butterdishes "Wurth" (Germany), a filter element of working liquid "Hydac Filtertechnic" or "Internormen" (Germany).
METALWORK
Modern technologies of the automated design, qualitative materials, the equipment of the known global manufacturers, rigid quality control at all stages of technological process guarantee stable quality, high precision and reliability of a metal construction of the EK 400 excavator.
All elements of a metalwork are made only of the low-alloyed steel that provides their increased durability and durability. The constructive elements experiencing the raised strain in the course of work are made of high-strength steel 10 HSND. For production of ladles Hardox steel (Sweden) having the increased durability and wear resistance is used.
Welding of a metalwork is made by materials of Esab firm (Sweden), on automatic welding semiautomatic devices of Kemppi firm (Finland), in the environment of protective gases - argon and carbonic acid. The progressive technology of welding and the modern equipment provides high strength characteristics of welded seams and, as a result, high and stable quality of a metalwork.
Butt welding of pipelines is made on the programmable Esab installation that provides their increased reliability and durability. Ultrasonic control of welded seams excludes existence of internal defects.
CATERPILLAR DRIVE
The caterpillar drive of EK 400 with elements of production of Italtractor firm (Italy) is characterized by high reliability and durability and ensures effective functioning of the excavator on any kinds of soil.
X the-shaped design of a caterpillar frame guarantees the high resistance to a bend and twisting. The duo-pitch surface of caterpillar beams gives them additional durability and prevents soil sticking. The directing protections on caterpillar beams prevent a descent of basic skating rinks from caterpillar tapes.
Course hydromotors "Bosch Rexroth" (Japan) and reducers of the course "Trasmital Bonfiglioli" (Italy) or "Lohmann Stolterfoht" (Germany) provide the increased reliability of the excavator at movement, and also necessary traction effort when overcoming rises and when performing turns.
The basic and supporting skating rinks of "Italtractor" are capable to maintain intensive loadings and are intended for the long period of operation. Special rubber-metal consolidations provide tightness of skating rinks, protect their rubbing surfaces from dust and dirt.
The mechanism of a tension "Italtractor" ensures reliable functioning of the excavator throughout all service life.
Tracks of "Italtractor" have high durability, provide reliable coupling with soil and reliable operation of the excavator on any kinds of soil.
WORKING EQUIPMENT
The arrow and handle represent the welded designs of box-shaped section having special stiffening ribs (internal partitions) in the places experiencing the greatest strain. They are calculated on effective and no-failure operation of the EK 400SL excavator even in the most severe conditions of operation. Ladles are made steel 10 HSND.
