The doctor of manual medicine carries out diagnostic algorithm which includes:

Anamnesis (collecting complaints, specification of character of pain, behavior of pain within a day, dependence of pain from position of body, physical activity, etc. )
Physical research:

1. Survey (including basin and legs for exception of asymmetries).

2. Research of active movements (bending, extensions, inclinations and turns).

3. Functional tests.

4. Research of passive movements (globally and posegmentno).

5. Palpation (determination of location of pain).

6. Neurologic research (check the muscular force, reflexes and sensitivity).

Main objectives of physical research are reproduction of symptoms, definition of the place or level of defeat and, whenever possible, the pain reason.

In certain cases, when there are doubts in the diagnosis or suspicions serious pathology, the doctor can resort to laboratory researches (bulk analysis of blood and urine, biochemical analysis of blood, rheumatoid factor, HLAB - the 27th antigen) and to tool researches (roentgenography, MPT, KT, ultrasonography of vessels or musculoskeletal structures).
