Travertines - the breeds of a chemical origin consisting of hardpan powder calcite. They have white, light gray, light yellow or light brown color. Structure their krupnoporisty, porous.

Properties of travertine: Travertine contains prints of plants and differs in the smaller density and a yacheistost. Travertine easily gives in to processing, and at the expense of the small density of a stone the designs made of travertine have smaller weight. This property of travertine allows to use it for facing of surfaces. Travertine is moderately used up that allows to use it in production of ladders and floor coverings. Thanks to high heat conductivity, travertine is widely applied to registration of fireplaces.
